About the Book

Chasing the Wild Authentic
is divided into four parts, each part developing one of the core practices and/or key relationships of ACTIVE AUTHENTICITY—the innovative model of wellbeing Eva Papp has developed and teaches.

Part I addresses Knowing Who You Are and demystifies the relationship between you and your experience of things so you can “know what you know.” It then offers the skills to deepen this relationship by calling attention to the range, specificity and degree of what you experience, and by giving background knowledge and tools to discern when a “troubled past” might be distorting with your current experience of things.

Part II addresses Expressing Who You Are and looks at first “charging” your actions with the energies of: internal and external safety, ample support, and active authenticity’s novel concept of starting with success. It then shows how to align these “fully charged” actions with who you are to access the many benefits and wellbeing that follow authentic action. The three chapters of Part II relay the skills to first “charge,” and then align, actions for authentic expression, and further introduce the skillful use of modifications and the Better Action Checklist to assist in this process.

Part III addresses Protecting Who You Are and dives into the issue of boundaries and their relevance to not only protecting who you are, but in fact knowing who you are. The four chapters of Part III cover key boundary maneuvers—the Definitive No, the Flexible No, saying “Yes to Yourself,” and the Internal Boundary—that make an authentic life possible.

Part IV addresses Unleashing Your Aliveness and looks to the relationship between you and your authentic dreams to do so. It begins by addressing “faulty dreams,” and what makes them so, as well as “dreaminess,” and how to experience more pleasure in life by tapping into who you really are. It explores the core dynamic between reality and what you long for, and introduces four “soft skills” as well as concrete steps to align your actions with your dreams. In a final, grand plot twist, Eva reveals the whole point of living an authentic life, and it’s not what readers might think.
